Post-doc

Emily is interested in how attention modulates the flow of information across the brain in support of behavior. Her current work examines the degree to which semantic representations in the brain support higher-order cognitive tasks, such as narrative recall and decision making. Before joining both the Aly Lab and the Dynamic Perception and Memory Lab, she earned her PhD in Neuroscience with Dr. Jack Gallant at UC Berkeley, developing computational models of brain activity during naturalistic perceptual tasks. Her dissertation work characterized how task and attentional state modulated the cortical distribution and functional tuning of semantic networks in the brain.

Pronouns: she/her

Fun fact: I’ve spent over 50 hours in the MRI machine participating in neuroimaging experiments!
