Asli’s research program broadly focuses on when and why episodic memory failures take place. Her research examines the cognitive and neural mechanisms underlying episodic memory impairments across the lifespan and in clinical populations, using experimental, computational, and neuroimaging methods. Prior to joining the Aly Lab, she was a postdoctoral research fellow at Vanderbilt University Medical Center with Dr. Stephan Heckers for two years. Prior to her time at Vanderbilt, Asli earned her Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill under the guidance of Dr. Kelly Giovanello.
